Fun Times in the Sun

For those of us who are not fortunate enough to have a pool in the backyard we have to improvise. We had Austyn, Chloe and Tessa over yesterday for some fun in the sun. Jeff came home on his lunch and put the slip and slide up for the kids and they all had a great time!! Even Ava. I am already dreading the months to come with the heat and trying to keep the kids entertained. Maybe the pool fairy will drop us a pool!!! Thanks Alicia for letting Austyn come hang out.

Happy Easter

We had a great but exhausting Easter. Abby reminds me so much of myself when I was younger. She was up at 6:30 jumping up and down so excited that the Easter Bunny came. We had to make her wait an hour before Blake would wake up. Then they got to look in their baskets do their first egg hunt of the day (followed by 3 more!!). After all that Ava decided to wake up and peek into her first Easter basket. Then we went to the Lee's house for a brunch which was so yummy followed by the 2nd egg hunt and wonderful Easter baskets from the grandma Susie and Grandpa Kevin!!! Moved on to papa and gamma's house were the kids were spoiled some more with their 3rd Easter basket and 3rd egg hunt!! Then to round out the day we went to the park for the Rooney Easter were we had lunch and the kids did their 4th and final egg hunt. Can I say we have enough candy to last us until next year. We are so blessed to have so many family and friends to share the holidays with. Can't imagine a holiday without all of them. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful day!!

My New Adventure

Well, this weekend I decided to take on a new craft adventure because I just don't have enough to do!! My sister and I made tutu's for our girls. At first, I thought no way will I be able to make them but it was actually quite easy and fun. They actually turned out pretty cute and I am making more as we speak. Abby loves them and think she is a ballerina and has been dancing around the house ever since.

Bath Time

Tonight I put Ava in the bath and Blake came in and said can I take a bath with Ava? My first thought was are you crazy because my kids have not taken a bath in a couple of years together because it takes twice as long and twice as much water because half ends up on the floor. But, I thought what the heck and let him get in. Then Abby comes in and wants to join them so I could not say no. Needless, to say they all three got a bath together and I had to capture the moment so I could blackmail them in the future!! Too cute and actually all the water stayed in the tub this time!!

Our Poor little Ava

I swear our little Ava has had her share of issues since she made her debut just nine months ago. She has had seven ear infections, febrile seizures and urinary tract infections. And I guess she thought this evening she wanted to take another trip to Phoenix Children's Urgent Care. When I got there I was for sure it was another ear infection because she has been so fussy the last couple of days and running a fever. But, much to my surprise they were clear. So I was ready to walk out of the door when I had this weird feeling there was something wrong so I asked the doctor to check her urine. I hate doing this to her because they have to cath her and I know it is painful. Sure enough she has another UTI. Poor baby I can't believe it and what scares me the most is last time she got one she started having seizures. So they loaded her up on antibiotics and pain meds and sent us home. So, tomorrow I have to schedule her two tests to be done at Phoenix Children's to check her kidneys and her urine flow. They are concerned because infants should not get UTI's unless there is a problem with her "plumbing". Please pray for her that nothing serious is wrong and she does not have another seizure.

Fun Filled Weekend

It has been crazy around the Otter's house the last couple of weeks. This weekend was no exception. I took the kids and their buddy Ausytn to see Hannah Montana at the IMAX on Friday and then they played at our house afterwards. Hopefully it gave Austyn's mom a little break!! Then on Saturday we signed papers for our house and get the keys this Thursday. It is in Seville which is in Gilbert and it has a lot more room for the kids to be crazy in. Jeff and I are sad that we will be moving out of our first home that has so many wonderful memories but we will make new ones in the new house. Then the rest of the day was packed full of birthday parties for the family. I swear there is not a weekend that goes by that it is not someone on the Rooney side's birthday!!! Then our little miss Ava thought that she needed her mom and dads attention on Sunday and had us spend the day at Phoenix Children's Urgent Clinic!!! Hope everyone else had a great weekend and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Okay, we bought this toy for Ava over the weekend. She is are little daredevil and thinks she can stand up on anything and everything. She has seemed to forget she needs to learn how to master crawling!! Anyways I don't know who likes the toy better Ava or Abby and Blake. So as they were all playing with it this morning I decided to capture some pictures because it is a rare occassion that they are all happy at one time. Can we say cheese balls!! Everytime the flash goes off Ava automatically smiles. It is too funny. Gotta love them all!!

Abby's First Concert

Last night I took Abby to see Hannah Montana in concert. She was so excited that she was jumping out of her skin the whole 2 hour drive to Glendale. Once we got there she was speechless for about 15 minutes trying to take it all in. Then the concert started and I have not seen her that excited in a long time. Half of the concert I watched Abby just to see her face. It makes you feel good as a parent to make your kids wishes come true and then to see their reaction. We had a blast and our seats were amazing thanks to Molly's mom (Jeff's brother Kenny's girlfriend). After the concert she got her souvenirs and then we ate at the Fox Sports Grill and finally made the long trip home. It was a great night!! Thanks Molly and McKenna for letting us drive with you and for a "pumpin" night!!!!

Okay I am taking Abby to her first concert tonight. HANNAH MONTANA!!! She is so excited and can't wait to get Hannah's autograph. She doesn't quite understand that there will be thousands of other screaming girls there hoping for the same thing. So wish me luck everyone!! I will post pictures tomorrow of the event.
